Welcome to Phrankly Phred, a blog about my observations and ruminations on life as a grad student living in Chicago, where I’m getting my master’s degree in Religious Studies at University of Chicago Divinity School.
I teach 8th grade religious school at a local congregation and monitor music practice rooms, too. In my free time I enjoy exploring Wisconsin’s state parks where I camp, hike, and play in the water; writing, reading; cooking; baking; traveling; farmer’s markets; and hanging out in bookstores. I also play euphonium, but am currently on hiatus from my community band commitments.
I graduated from Smith College in 2004. In my lifetime, I have lived Appleton, Onalaska, and Madison, Wisconsin; Galesburg, Illinois; Northampton, Massachusetts; Geneva, Switzerland; Chicago; and Portland, Maine.
